Iowa's Fury: Tornado Aftermath and Recovery

Multiple waves of storms swept throughout Iowa on Tuesday, causing a series of severe weather events. The morning began with a bout of rain in central Iowa. Later on in the morning, a strong thunderstorm passed across the area. The state was then slammed by another series of storms in the afternoon, which prompted several tornado warnings. In western and central Iowa, towns were left to deal with the fallout as the day wore on into the early evening, when they started to clean up and evaluate the damage caused by the severe weather.
