B541 - May 19, 2024 Great Bible Prayers C

In this Bible Study we review the fasting of Queen Esther and the prayers of Jude, the Disciples at the time of Pentecost, and the Apostle Paul for his various congregations scattered around the Mediterranean Sea.

We discuss the difference in prayers between the Old Testament, that mostly focus on temporal, physical needs, and the more spiritual and eternal focused prayers in the New Testament, made possible by the infilling of the Holy Spirit.

NT Believers should remain focused on the spiritual needs and growth in their lives and in the lives of other believers, and avoid the covetousness we see in many Word of Faith prayers. Yehovah doesn’t care if you are healthy and rich, He cares about your heart condition and whether you are learning and growing spiritually.

Praying for the needs of others and for their relationship with Yehovah, should be part of everyone’s prayer time. Every believer is commanded to pray for other believers and to focus on the Wil of God when seeking His Wisdom in their lives.

Trust in Yehovah with all of your heart and do not trust in your own abilities. Cry out to Yeshua and accept His free gift of redemption for your life and be filled with the Holy Spirit of Yehovah. Trust in the Plan that will never fail!
