Keith Carlock 32nd Note Drum Lick - Practice ideas from my drum room...

This is a little clip of me practicing a Keith Carlock inspired drum lick. I'm getting to the point now where I can play it quite comfortably and smoothly.

It consists of a paradiddle diddle with two kicks making it a group of eight 32nd notes. I then improvise by adding another two sets of doubles to turn it into a group of twelve 32nd notes, and then shorten it to just two accents followed by two kicks to play four 32nd notes. When played at this sort of tempo I'm able to feel them as one 8th note, two 8th notes and three 8th notes allowing some cool rhythmic combinations.
