National Security Council spokesman John Kirby was pressed about the status of the American hostages during last Friday's White House press briefing, there was "sadly, no" new intelligence that Kirby had to share. "We don’t have any information that--that leads us to a conclusion that they’re--that they’re no longer alive. But we just don’t have any additional context whatsoever," he offered. -- Reporter: "The five American hostages who are still unaccounted for.
