Ringworms - Prevention & Treatment
Ringworms refer to a common fungal infection of the skin, hair, or nails. It is caused by various types of fungi known as dermatophytes.
These fungi transmit through direct contact with an infected person, or by contact with contaminated objects such as towels, clothing, or surfaces.
Ringworm typically appears as a red, circular rash with raised edges and a clear center, resembling a ring. It can cause itching, scaling, and sometimes blistering of the affected area.
Treatment for ringworm usually involves antifungal medications, which can be applied topically as creams, lotions, or powders. Keeping the affected area clean and dry, avoiding sharing personal items, and practicing good hygiene can help prevent the spread of ringworms.
