Attorneys Scott and Eastman Represent Voter in Lawsuit Against Wisconsin Elections Commission
On May 20, 2024, Union Grove, WI: A lawsuit was filed on behalf of a Wisconsin voter by Attorneys Kevin Scott and Daniel Eastman. The lawsuit alleges that the Wisconsin Elections Commission (WEC) violated state election law by approving new ballot envelopes that could potentially mislead voters. The complaint argues that the envelopes recommended by WEC staff would require voters to falsely certify that the envelope is a copy of a ballot request generated through MyVote, when in fact it is not.
This controversial decision by the WEC has raised concerns about potential voter fraud and has led to a Marinette County judge issuing a temporary restraining order on the Wisconsin Elections Commission. The judge's action aims to prevent any further use of the disputed envelopes until the legal issues surrounding them are resolved.
