Wikileaks founder Julian Assange can bring a newappeal against extradition to the US, the UK High Court has ruled.

In 2022, then-home secretary Priti Patel signed hisextradition order, which would see Mr Assange sent tothe US to stand trial for leaking military secrets.

But, today's decision means he will be able tochallenge US assurances over how his prospective trialwould be conducted and whether his right to free speech would be infringed.

Mr Assange has resisted extradition from the UK formore than a decade, after his Wikileaks websitepublished thousands of confidential US documents in2010 and 2011, and he will now have a number ofmonths to prepare his appeal.
