[Originally recorded and posted on YT in December 2020] History of Money, Lecture 39: final lecture of the HOM course! In this lecture, I provide a basic definition / explanation of cryptocurrency, with Bitcoin (BTC) at the forefront, but also a mention of several altcoins including Ethereum, Ripple (XRP), Litecoin, and even Dogecoin (Doge). We discuss blockchain technology, the private key, the digital wallet, bitcoin mining, Satoshi Nakamoto, the Great Crypto Crash of 2018, and the positives and negatives of Bitcoin.
