This week, The Grin & Guardian gang speak with Chris Moore, a Captain with the Chesapeake Virginia Fire Department and a national speaker on first responder mental health. Chris is a 30-year veteran who has served as a firefighter paramedic, instructor, and peer support team member. After experiencing PTSD himself, Chris became an advocate for mental health awareness and suicide prevention in the first responder community. He speaks at conferences and has been featured in documentaries and publications. We'll discuss Chris's career, his struggles with PTSD, and his mission to end the stigma around mental health in public safety.

We discuss how challenge coins create a sense of belonging within first responder communities. We'll explore the history and symbolism of these small tokens, how they build camaraderie, and the stories they hold.
