According to a report by Reuters, on Tuesday, Islamic State claimed responsibility for a series of coordinated Easter Day bombings in Sri Lanka that killed 321 people. Officials reportedly believe that the attacks were meant as retaliation for attacks on mosques in New Zealand. Reuters reports that three sources claim that Sri Lankan intelligence officials had been warned hours earlier by India that attacks by Islamists were imminent, however it remains unclear what action, if any, was taken.
