In a historic first, the honorary Palme d’Or of this year’s Cannes Film Festival has been awarded as "a collective prize", marking an unprecedented event in its 77-year history. Japanese production house Studio Ghibli was celebrated for its pioneering contributions to the world of animated cinema during a ceremony held on Monday (May 20).
