Reckless Man Saws Wood While STANDING On Two Chairs

In life, we have all taken shortcuts that were, pun intended, short-sighted. Usually, we make it through them or we injure ourselves and learn never to do that again. Hopefully, we learn that, clearly some people don’t. Somehow though, you stick some tools in guy’s hands and suddenly the reckless decision making goes up fortyfold. Look, we are not standing in judgement. Trust us, we have done some disastrously stupid things with tools our own hands. Fortunately, for us there wasn’t a video camera on when we were doing that. There absolutely had to be a better for this guy to saw a piece of wood in half. I mean, and this is not exactly safe either, he could have held one end of the wood down on a table with the other half sticking out and sawed the wood that way. While not the safest way to saw some wood, it certainly mitigates the danger of potentially falling on the saw! It probably does not need to be iterated but we did look up what is actually considered safe handsaw use. Most of it is obvious but we’ll share anyway.

The guide we read recommended using a helper, someone who can firmly hold the wood for you, a supporting bench, or a vise to support the wood while you saw. If working alone they say to firmly hold the wood with your hand safely away from saw teeth so as not to cut yourself. It is also recommended to only apply pressure on the downstroke only. They also recommend starting slowly and then setting the saw at a proper angle once the edge has bit. Hopefully, this small advice helps you or sticks in your mind if you ever decide to saw something.
