Hallikar is a breed of cattle native to the Indian state of Karnataka. Cattle bulls of this breed are known for their strength and endurance. It is the only species in the world that can be used for plowing by bull and cow. Hallikar is a breed that can work 18 to 20 hours in a day.
In Telangana and Rayalaseema region Hallikars are known as “Seema” cows.
Generally Melujati Gittas cost 1 - 2 lakhs, while Hallikar Jati Gittha fetches Rs. 1 crore rupees.
The price of this Gitta Viryam is above Rs.1000 per dose. For the first time in the country, the collection and preservation of semen with the help of private companies is seen as the beginning of the Hallikar breed of cattle.
