We had an 83% hatch average.
After day 7, the hatchability rate begins to decline. The fresher the egg is, the better the hatch rate can be. Fertilized eggs that have been collected locally (not shipped) and set within 7 days of being laid can be expected to result in an 80-90% hatch rate on average.

12 Purebred Bearded Silkie Hatching Eggs purchased on Apr 16th from Scott Farm & Poultry in Utah. Delivered on Apr 20th. Incubation started Apr 21st.

Nine out of 12 hatched from the incubator on May 11th
One was still in the incubator and was relocated with it's friends in the brooder on May 12th

The average success rate for well-packaged, fertilized shipped eggs is between 50-75%. Remember that hatching success or failure does not indicate lack of fertility or improper packaging.
