Ezra Lesson-01: A Divine Stirring - Part I

This Week’s Lesson

We are in Lesson-01 in the series “Rebuilding on the Solid Rock” from the book of Ezra.
 
This is Volume I of our series: “After the Exile” a study of Ezra-Nehemiah-Esther.
 
The lesson is titled “A Divine Stirring – Part I” and our focus passage is Ezra 1:1-4.
 
Please find your way in your Bible to that passage.

In these opening chapters of Ezra, we see that God is moving to motivate men and women to join Him in accomplishing His purposes.
 
It is clear as you study the books of Ezra-Nehemiah-Esther that God is Sovereign and in control.

He really does not need anyone’s help to accomplish anything (Psalm 115:3).

However, He makes a choice to involves us humans in the process.

A phrase that you will see frequently in this section of Scripture has to do with “The Lord stirring up someone’s spirit.” 
 
God is moving in the hearts of people to move them to action.

It is a divine stirring which gives the title to our lesson.
