Bette Davis on and off the Set: Her Films, Her Feuds, Her Fame
Bette Davis was a legendary actress who made her mark in Hollywood during the Golden Age of cinema. Born Ruth Elizabeth Davis in Massachusetts in 1908, she began her acting career on stage before transitioning to film in the 1930s.
Davis was known for her strong-willed and independent characters, often playing complex and controversial roles that challenged traditional gender roles. Some of her most notable films include "Jezebel," "All About Eve," and "What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?"
Throughout her career, Davis received numerous awards and nominations, including two Academy Awards for Best Actress. She was also the first female president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
Despite facing some setbacks and controversies throughout her life, Davis remained a beloved and influential figure in Hollywood until her passing in 1989.
