Slovak PM Robert Fico shooting suspectcharged with attempted murder | BBC News

A man has been charged with the attempted murder of Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico.

The alleged assailant has not been formally named,but local reports have widely identified him as a71-year-old from the town of Levice. Reports say he could face up to life in prison.

The politician is in a serious but stable condition afterbeing shot several times whilst speaking to a crowdduring a visit to Handlova.
