Alaskan Lamb Gyro
Braised Lamb
Large Dutch oven
Good quality leg of lamb 5lb
Two containers of chicken broth
Dill 3 tablespoons
Black pepper corn 2 tablespoons
3 bay leaves
Italian seasoning 2 tablespoons
Thyme 2 tablespoons
Butter blend (bearded butcher) 1 tablespoons
Salt to taste 2-4 tablespoons
Naan bread
4 ½-5 teaspoon active dry yeast (*1 packet = 2 ¼ tsp)
½ cup warm water, about 112°
1 cup warm milk, about 112° (I have used fat free and whole milk with this recipe and both work great!)
2 teaspoon sugar
5 cups all purpose flour, divided
⅔ cup plain fat free yogurt
2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon fresh rosemary, finely chopped (stems removed)
2 teaspoon fresh thyme, finely chopped (stems removed)
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoon olive oil (plus more for coating the mixing bowl and pan to cook)
Tzatziki sauce
Cucumber 1/2 cup
1 Garlic clove micro plained
1 cup Greek yogurt
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Salt 1 tablespoons
1/2 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon fresh dill chopped (I suggest extra dill)
The filling
1 large diced red onion
3 ripe but firm tomatoes
1 cucumber
Dice all mix together
Optional splash of lemon juice and pinch of salt
