Traditional plungers have a wooden handle with a rubber bell head which holds air which is then forced down the drain to clear the blockage when the plunger is pushed downwards. This new model from XREXS differs in that it has an all plastic construction with a larger head allowing it to force more air down the drain to free the blockage.

The ‎27 x 12 x 12 cm 120g plunger arrives unboxed and unbagged, which is better for the environment but does detract a bit from the first impression of the product. Build quality is all fine, the plunger and handle are made from a single piece of extruded flexible plastic with nothing likely to fail or fall off anytime soon, as you would expect with such a simple item. The all plastic construction has the advantage of making the plunger easier and more hygienic to clean after use.

Operation is just the same as with any other plunger. Position the plunger over the sink drain and cover any overflow or air outlet with a damp cloth to form a seal. Add enough water to the sink to cover the plunger head and then, pressing down firmly, push firmly down on the plunger to force air down the sink to clear the blockage. Be sure to always maintain the seal over the overflow outlet as you do so.

That really is all there is to it. This is like a normal sink plunger on steroids and will clear the blockages too impacted for traditional plungers to shift. Not a bad buy for just the current Amazon discount price of just £7.99.
