Assassin's Creed Shadows Isn't Going Great For Ubisoft...

Ubisoft announced the latest iteration in the Assassin's Creed franchise with Shadows, set in Feudal Japan, a long requested setting for the series and they did it in the most Ubisoft way possible.

Instead of giving you a traditional Shogun/Samurai/Ninja story, they decided to cherry-pick a fringe and historically inaccurate tale about a Black Slave named Yasuke for DEI points and pair him with a female Shinobi.

The backlash has been intense from the predictable sources as much as the defense for the woke choices has been. But if you look at the Japanese response, the term "cultural appropriation" is being thrown back in Ubisoft's French-Canadian faces.

Just when you thought Star Wars: Outlaws was destined to be the biggest disaster on their calendar...
