President Volodymyr Zelensky has cancelled allupcoming foreign trips as troops struggle to containthe new cross-border incursion, with several towns andvillages coming under heavy fire.

Ukraine has pulled back its troops from severalvillages in the border region of Kharkiv followingcontinued pressure from Russian forces.

Soldiers had come under heavy fire and moved to"more advantageous positions" in two areas of thenorth-eastern region, a military spokesman said.
