Summoned

[Spiritual or Inspirational Poem Collection]

We are all ‘Summoned’ in some way and at some stage in life. Many are now being ‘summoned’ to have the courage to see ‘the what has been’ in order to grow individually and to heal as we recover and together imagine ‘a new way’.

I wrote this on the 8th March 2021 at a time when I was reflecting on ‘world and local events’ and seeking courage and direction for engagement and action. I think it re-opened the door for my poetry writing and ultimately led to my first publication on Rumble in Feb 2023. … it is my 100th poem published on Rumble (within 16 months) and I am very grateful for that and for all those who have watched, commented and shared the journey with me, thank you. Summoned.

Summoned by God
in search of Truth.
I return to the innate
strengths of youth.

Knowing, sure,
brave and strong.
Not one ever,
to just ‘tag along’.

Open, questionnning,
with vibrance alive,
never feeling,
like I had to strive.

So what of now?
Footing unsure.
Do I, from self,
Just be demure?

Nay, I live,
and trust to see.
The Glory of a world
Imagined through Thee ….

Of Light and Joy
and Spirits Free,
Happy and bountiful.
God … Let It Be.
