Deutsche Werke Ortgies 25 semi-automatic Vest-Pocket pistols were produced in Germany in the years immediately after World War I. This is a comprehensive overview. Ortgies pistols were designed by the German gunsmith Karl August Brauning and produced in 25, 32 and 380, first by Heinrich Ortgies and then by the German conglomerate Deutsche Werke. While inexpensive at the time, Ortgies pistols were of tight, good quality construction with few moving parts and no screws. Due to their excellent accuracy, the Ortgies 32 pistols also achieved considerable success at contemporary shooting competitions. Ortgies were produced from 1919 to 1924. Includes range activity and detailed demonstration of disassemble and reassembly.
