In this episode, Julie (ATL-947) sits down with Jon Wolfe, head Network Engineer for the North Georgia GMRS Network. Jon talks about how he got involved with the network and his important role in maintaining it.

Jon also talks about the process of setting up a new repeater site from a network engineering standpoint, including how we tune the transmitters and receives, audio levels and quality, and the linking nodes that connect all of our repeaters to create the largest GMRS linked repeater network in the U.S.

We are North Georgia GMRS Network, a family communications network in Georgia. We're proud to operate the largest linked GMRS repeater network in the United States, with 21 commercial-grade repeaters covering more than 41,000 square miles of RF coverage, with additional VoIP linked access on Zello. Our network was started in 2007 and currently has more than 1,200 members throughout Georgia, Tennessee, Florida, the Carolinas, and beyond.
