A Good Egg

[Whimsical Poem Collection]

The old phrase ‘A Good Egg’ triggered this little ditty …. which I hope you all enjoy. As we all know, there is nothing as nice or as versatile as a good egg!

And remember …. “Whatever you are, be a good one” and that “all rotten eggs eventually explode”!!

Poem wording:-

A Good Egg

I like her a lot …
She’s a ‘good egg’, you know!
Kindly and bright,
And vibrant …. A glow.

I’d probably go as far
as to describe her ….
In fact ….. I’ll wait and
just thus first demonstrate … like …

Nicely boiled!! …. Soft and gooey inside!!
Or
Gently fried … served as sunny side up!!
Scrambles … nice with mushrooms and onion
Or cheese … blends well in any case.
Softly poached … lovely taken with
Smoked salmon and brown bread
Even Raw .. good with a snifter of port!
A good sport
Completes a ‘Fetata’ or a ‘quiche’
nice and appetising with a side.
Or a nourishing egg flip … when
served with honey – a trip!!

An all rounder!
A ‘good egg’
Versatile … little could confound her!!

A gem she is .. in fact,
I’d describe her as
a ‘Faberge’ ... look see!!
What a yolk!!
