US threatens Georgia with sanctions over ‘foreign agents’ bill

The US has condemned the transparency bill that was approved by Georgian parliament, calling it a clampdown on civil society groups. Some officials in Washington have even threatened to impose sanctions against Tbilisi, apparently forgetting there is a nearly identical law in the US. Doesn’t Washington have to sanction itself too then?
