As Israel celebrates the 76th anniversary of its national independence, Palestinians experience a time of remembrance and loss. Known as 'The Nakba' (‘catastrophe’), it commemorates the forced displacement of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians from their homes and land during the establishment of the State of Israel.
