Saving the planet by switching to electricity to lower your CO2 footprint is admirable indeed, but what about all those poor common people?

A new video was posted on TikTok, showing a Tesla Supercharger station in the California Bay Area rendered completely useless after someone cut all cables from the stalls, leaving the drivers in a bind and causing tens of thousands of dollars in repair costs for the company.

Yet, this was just the latest example of what now seems to be developing into a new trend when thieves target high-powered EV charging stations to steal the heavy cable and then sell the metal inside, with Tesla being the primary target since its supercharger cables are full of copper.

Last week, someone also sliced Tesla charging cables in Houston, Texas following another identical incident in Minneapolis, Minnesota earlier this year.
