Ippei Mizuhara, the former interpreter of Japanese baseball star Shohei Ohtani, appeared at a Los Angeles court on Tuesday (May 14) and entered a not guilty plea to federal charges that he fraudulently wired nearly $17 million stolen from the athlete's bank account to pay off his own gambling debts. The arraignment was a procedural matter and he has agreed to plead guilty at a later date.
