2023 global displacement crisis: Record 76 million people forced from homes

A record number of people around the world were internally displaced last year. Fighting in Gaza, Sudan and the Democratic Republic of Congo accounted for almost two-thirds of the 76 million people who had to flee their homes. Natural disasters also forced tens of millions to become displaced.
