Sparkark and my dad went to Kennedy Space Center in the early 80's on a 3-hour tour. it only cost about 8-dollars a person, when we got close to the upright space shuttle it looked all deformed, I asked the bus driver want was wrong with the shuttle, he said they had a tarp over it to protect it from weather and such.
