Israel Issues Fresh Evacuation Orders for Gaza's Rafah City

Israel issued a fresh evacuation order for Palestinians in additional areas of Gaza's southern city of Rafah. They have asked residents to relocate to what Israel terms an expanded humanitarian zone in Al-Mawasi. On social media platform X, a military spokesperson instructed residents and displaced individuals in 12 neighbourhoods of the enclave to promptly move to shelters located west of Gaza city. These evacuation efforts follow overnight airstrikes by Israeli jets throughout the enclave. Israel’s move suggests that the military is advancing its plans for a ground assault on Rafah. This comes despite significant pressure from the US and concerns raised by residents and humanitarian organisations.
