Aldous Huxley - Opens the Doors of Perception

Aldous Leonard Huxley (26 July 1894 – 22 November 1963) was an English writer, best known for his novels, essays, short stories, poetry, travel writing, film stories and scripts. Huxley was interested in ‘parapsychology’ and ‘philosophical mysticism’ and became involved in the experiments being undertaken at the time, on these subjects.William Blake once wrote: "If the doors of perception were cleansed every thing would appear to man as it is, infinite". The Doors of Perception, written by Huxley, describes his first attempt to open this Door, using the hallucinogenic drug mescalin.This video provides the relevant extract from the book when Huxley recounts his experiences.
