Nightjar bird

It is a large nightjar with long ear tufts, striped wings and tail, and a white throat stripe. The size of the bird reaches 40 cm.

Like a real nocturnal animal, the large eared nightjar sees perfectly in the dark thanks to the tapetum - a special layer of the choroid of the eyes, a kind of mirror that reflects a few photons onto the retina for double stimulation of photoreceptors.
