"If I cross a line, I ruin it." "Everything's such a mess right now..." Signature Ent. in the UK has debuted an official trailer for a sweet new British romantic comedy film called This Time Next Year, arriving on VOD in June this summer in the UK. No US date is set yet, and this hasn't played at any festivals either, despite looking pretty good. Minnie and Quinn are born on the same day, one minute apart, in the same hospital in London. Their lives may have begun together, but their worlds couldn't be more different now. Years later they find themselves bumping into each other again. Maybe it's time for her to finally take a chance on love. Lucien Laviscount (best known from Emily in Paris) and Sophie Cookson (from "Gypsy" & Infinite) star in this effervescent tale of romance, friendship and two separate lives destined to align. It's directed by acclaimed editor Nick Moore (who has edited many British classics including Notting Hill, About a Boy, Love Actually, Along Came Polly, Nanny McPhee, Wild Child). This looks charming! It's simple yet sweet.

What Is This Time Next Year About?
The upcoming feature will center on Quinn Hamilton (Laviscount) and Minnie Cooper (Cookson), who — despite their differences — share the same birthday, birth year, and birthplace. Both of them were even born in the same London-based hospital.

Though they entered the world on the same day, their worlds couldn’t be more different: Quinn seems to have his life figured out, while Minnie’s life is filled with an unfortunate series of events. Minnie grew up believing that her birthday was forever cursed because of a man she had never met — until they accidentally met each other during their thirtieth birthday.

“Flung together at a New Year’s Eve party, Minnie and Quinn quickly realize they share a connection — they were born on New Year’s Day of the same year, in the same London hospital, one minute apart,” the synopsis reads. “Minnie grew up convinced that this mysterious Quinn — born first — stole the name her mother planned for her, and with it all her luck, setting her on a path of misfortune. Horrified at the misunderstanding, Quinn is set on making amends. But is it Quinn or is it fate that is scheming to bring the two together?”

I know I've been flipping back and forth a LOT with my opinion on the upcoming martial arts movie The Forbidden Kingdom, but now I've settled - holy shit this looks amazing!! This is what a trailer for this movie should be all about! No need to intro it with that terrible story about the kid being transported back in time, you can figure that out when you see it. Just focus on the two great martial artists - Jackie Chan and Jet Li - and then spend the rest of the time showing just a few of the awesome fights we'll see. By the end with the big fight montage I was pumped up and ready to see this tomorrow! I truly hope it's as good as the trailer makes it out to be.

Back in mid-November of 2007 we ran a trailer with some early edits of footage. After watching that I said that it was "pretty much absolute bad ass all contained within one 2-minute video." Then in late December an official teaser trailer was released that I didn't much like. I went as far as to say that "this seems way too cheesy and way too much of a 'fantasy adventure'." Now I've flipped back to the good side again and will officially say that I think this looks like it could be incredible.

Wait, what, a Disney director doing a kung fu epic?! The fight choreography in the film was done by Yuen Wo Ping, who choreographed the complete Matrix trilogy and both Kill Bill movies. The Forbidden Kingdom arrives in theaters from Lionsgate on April 18th. The newest poster is featured below.
This Time Next Year centers around a couple that discovers a connection through birthdates and a hospital.
The romcom is an adaptation of a best-selling novel written by Sophie Cousens.
Directed by Nick Moore, the movie includes a cast with familiar faces like Sophie Cookson, John Hannah and Golda Rosheuvel.
We all know that love is a universal language, but it's always comforting to get confirmation. In This Time Next Year, this confirmation comes from across the pond. Today, Signature Entertainment released though Deadline a trailer for the British romcom that highlights its most lovable aspects. The story centers around a couple that discovers during a New Year's Eve party that they share a highly improbable connection. The movie is set to premiere on the UK on June 3, and an American release window is yet to be announced.

Since we'll have to wait a little to find out all that happens in This Time Next Year, the trailer already reveals what the mysterious connection is that Minnie (Sophie Cookson) and Quinn (Lucien Laviscount) share. Both of them were born on New Year's Day of the same year, at the same hospital and one minute apart from each other. To say they were destined to meet is an understatement, and the couple also realizes that from the start.

This Time Next Year will also get creative with the mandatory meet-cute: Minnie and Quinn's first encounter happens when she accidentally breaks the handle of a door during a party and immediately panics. Luckily, Quinn hears her through the noise of the party and opens the door for her. Even though they instantly like each other, Minnie realizes that Quinn's name is the one that she would have if he wasn't born in the same place and at the same time as her.

'This Time Next Year' Is Adapted By The Best Writer Possible
Book stans out there will be happy to realize that This Time Next Year is based on The New York Times best-selling novel of the same name by author Sophie Cousens. Fans of the novel will be extra stoked to learn that the author herself penned the screenplay and adapted her own novel. Cousens is no stranger to the entertainment business, though: She worked as a producer on The Graham Norton Show and on Russell Howard's Good News.

The movie is directed by Nick Moore, who's been a major editor of romcoms for the past two decades. He edited Notting Hill, About a Boy, Along Came Polly, Burnt, Red, White and Royal Blue and many, many others. For the cast of This Time Next Year, he also recruited John Hannah (Spartacus: Blood and Sand), Golda Rosheuvel (Bridgerton), Monica Dolan (Black Mirror), Mandip Gill (Doctor Who) and Anita Dobson (Eastenders).

This Time Next Year premieres in the UK on June 3. The U.S. release date is yet to be announced. You can watch the trailer above.
