"Cervical Cancer Survivor's Urgent Plea: Don't Delay Your Smear Test Appointments"

hi my name is Dr Hanner fry and I'm here
with a friendly reminder to all of those
of you who have got a smear test lesser
that you're just sitting waiting on to
uh to go and book your
appointments uh I had cervical cancer a
couple of years ago and by the time 1
got round to having my spear test it had
spread through to the lymphatic
system so don't be like me I know we're
busy we've got busy lives but when the
appointment comes through it's worth
just going and getting yourself checked
out it's also a friendly message to
those of you who have kids in school and
are offered the HPV vaccine because one
thing about my diagnosis that was quite
hard to take was the idea that if I had
been a couple of decades younger then it
is a form of cancer that can be
prevented by a vaccine so if you have
girls or boys giving them the HPV vac
seen is I think one of the greatest
gifts that you can give them yims mat you can give uren
to help reduce their chances of getting
this not very nice form of cancer and uh
a reminder for you again to make sure
that you go for your smears when they
come through thank you
