In a tragic incident in Charlotte, North Carolina, multiple police officers were fatally shot while attempting to serve an arrest warrant. The shootout occurred during a U.S. Marshals Service task force operation targeting a suspect wanted for illegally possessing a firearm. Four officers were killed, and four others were wounded in the exchange of gunfire. The suspect was also killed in the confrontation, which led to a three-hour standoff before the residence was cleared by authorities.
