Bucuresti, Romania, May 7, 2024 | Sfintele Paști la Catedrala Patriarhală din București, 5 mai 2024 Thousands of faithful came on the Patriarchy’s Hill to attend the Holy Feast of the Resurrection at the Patriarchal Cathedral in Bucharest, at the midnight religious service. The Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ celebrates the resurrection of the Savior Jesus Christ from the dead, three days after he was crucified on the cross and is the most important feast of Christianity. Mii de credincioși au venit pe Colina Patriarhiei să asiste la slujba Învierii de la miejul nopții la Catedrala Patriarhală din București. Învierea Domnului sau Paștile celebrează învierea Mântuitorului Iisus Hristos din morți, la trei zile după ce a fost răstignit pe cruce și este cea mai importantă sărbătoare a creștinătății. Holy Easter is the most important holiday in the Christian world and the ceremony on the night of the celebration of the Resurrection is impressive. Even more beautiful that at 2 am there are people on the street like during the day because everyone goes to church to get the Light of Christ. The Holy Fire is transported from Jerusalem to Romania by plane after descended at the Holy Sepulchre and it is distributed to churches throughout the country in a real race against time. The Holy Fire descended at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre on Holy Saturday at 14:13. Ukrainian believers near Romanian border and Czech and Slovak believers also receive the Holy Fire from Romania. The divine services commence near midnight of Holy Saturday. Then, exactly at midnight, the priests say "Come Receive the Light" and distribute the Light to the faithful who have arrived in impressive numbers. One by one, the faithful light their candles from the candle held by the priest and enjoy the Light of the Risen Christ that illuminates everyone.
