When I asked him to explain the gospel to me, he used many words to say, essentially, “be nice to each other.” He didn’t mention Jesus once. This was just the most recent example for me of what I’ve known for a long time, unfortunately: despite one of every three people on earth claiming the title “Christian,” the gospel is not very well understood at all.
