New information has been discovered that shows Lara Smith lied in her interview with Shiny Happy People producers about the circumstances of an incident she claimed was a sexual assault against her will at the IBLP Indianapolis training center. She used a fallacious account in Shiny Happy People to push forward the false narrative the producers were already wanting to present that "...s*xual assault at (IBLP) training centers within the institute under Bill Gothard was very real and rampant".

But, in a conflicting account of this tale, Lara tells a completely different scenario of the circumstances which sheds a wholly reversed light on what was really going on and how she was a part of the s*xual behavior - a fully willing participant and was even a part of the planning of the man coming to the room on a regular basis.

As with most of the stories in the fake docuseries, lies and misrepresentations flow throughout creating false narratives and slanderous accusations against the three targets of the program being the Duggar family, the Institute in Basic Life Principles, and Bill Gothard in order to damage the reputation of Christians and homeschoolers generally.
