Are Video Games Linked to Psychosis? | Ep. 13

As long as I can remember, people have always blamed violence in video games, movies, TV shows, and books – art – on society’s biggest problems.

For example, after the tragedy in Columbine happened in 1999, everyone blamed the computer game Doom, a first-person shooter where you go around killing aliens.

In 2012, a mass shooter allegedly inspired by the Joker murdered 12 people in a movie theater during a showing of “The Dark Knight Rises.”

However, there may be something to these criticisms of violent video games.

In this episode of Dad Think, Joe discusses a recent paper published in the journal JAMA Psychiatry that links video games to psychosis.
