The Vultures and the Carcasses
Luke 17:34-36 has caused many to come to a misunderstanding of the true context of certain passages within Jesus's similar teaching in the Olivet Discourse. In this Lukan passage, Jesus's mention of one being "taken" and one being "left" is immediately followed by a question posed by the disciples: "Where, Lord?" To which Jesus responds: "Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together." - an obvious reference to judgment. Because of this, many interpret Jesus's foregoing statement about one "taken" to mean that they are "taken in judgment," rather than being taken in Rapture (as many have understood that passage). But as we've demonstrated in past videos, the clear context of Jesus's statement about one taken and one left refers to the separation of the righteous and the wicked at the BEGINNING of the Parousia. Yet, this passage in Luke would seem to indicate otherwise. What is the truth here?
