Dr. Daniele Ganser: Vietnam 1964, an illegal war (Hannover 28.5.2018)(english subtitles)

This lecture by Swiss historian and peace researcher Dr. Daniele Ganser shows that both the attack by France in 1946 and the attack by the USA in 1964 on Vietnam were illegal because they both violated the UN Charter prohibition on the use of force. The lecture also explains in understandable terms how these wars came about and how the public in the USA and Europe were deceived by US President Lyndon Johnson with the Tonkin lie. The lecture emphasizes the importance of the UN Charter prohibition on the use of force for world peace. It shows, using the example of Vietnam, the great suffering that occurs when the principle of the human family is betrayed and people are divided along lines of nation, skin color, or religion, then devalued, and ultimately even killed.
