President of Russia - Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin attended the military parade to commemorate the 79th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945.
Along with the head of the Russian state, on the podium were the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the President of the Republic of Cuba Miguel Diaz -Canel Bermudez, President of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau Oumarou Sissokou Embalo, President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic Thongloun Sisoulith.

Before the start of the parade, Vladimir Putin in the Armorial Hall of the Kremlin greeted the leaders of foreign states who had arrived in Moscow to participate in the ceremonial events.

The parade began with the removal of the Russian flag and the Victory Banner to Red Square. The parade was commanded by the Commander-in-Chief of the Ground Forces, Army General Oleg Salyukov, and received by Acting Minister of Defense General of the Army Sergei Shoigu.

As part of a walking column, 30 parade units marched across Red Square: more than nine thousand military personnel, including more than a thousand soldiers of a special military operation.

The mechanized column was led by the legendary “Victory tank” T-34. Multi-purpose universal armored vehicles "Tiger-M", "VPK Ural", "KAMAZ", protected ambulances "Linza", operational-tactical missile system "Iskander-M", anti-aircraft missile system S-400 "Triumph" drove along the paving stones of the main square ", launchers of the Yars missile system, BTR-82A armored personnel carriers.

The Victory Parade ended with a flyover of aviation: the famous “Cuban Diamond” - a rhombus of Su-30SM and MiG-29 aircraft from the Russian Knights and Swifts aerobatic teams - passed over Red Square, then six Su-25 attack aircraft painted the sky in the colors of the Russian flag.
