Greedy Chicago Teachers Union Demands Are Absurd

The Chicago Teachers Union’s contract expires this summer -- and they are taking advantage to demand more tax dollars and to advance a radical left-wing social agenda that usurps parental rights.
According to their own website, the CTU represents nearly 30,000 teachers, paraprofessional and school-related personnel, and school clinicians working in the Chicago Public Schools.
Enrollment in Chicago government schools is reported to be at 323,251 in 670 schools. According to IllinoisReportCard.com, proficiency rates in English Language Arts are 25%, Math is at 18% and Science is at 37%. Yet the graduation rate is reported at 83%.
