Whilst going through some old stuff I found this cassette tape of a gig that we did in May of 2004 at The Ex-Servicemen's club in Oswestry, Shropshire. It was our first public gig having played only at a gathering -"Gavstock" a couple of months previous. We were invited by Luke Turner of Inzaghi who's uncle Bill owned the club.

Inzaghi were a funky grungy band, here they play covers of The Pixies - Where is My Mind and Purple Haze by Jimi Hendrix, there is also an acoustic performance from Luke Turner of Inzaghi at the end of the cassette playing and singing The Spider and The Fly by the Rolling stones, after the gig.

Sweet Leaf were a punk band fronted by Ben Mullhall, I don't know if the songs here are covers or originals. I remember they did one called "If I were you I'd Kill myself" but it isn't on this cassette

Blueroom were a band formed in Shropshire in the early 2000s. We made two albums - the Noise EP (2004) and Red Mission Void (2005). We could be descired as indie, grunge, heavy metal and prog.

I've digitised the cassette tape and here is the result. A classic Oswestry gig from a time when the scene was really good and there were plenty of young bands around - we didn't have smart phones so we entertained ourselves by being in a band.

One of our friends believes he might have footage of this gig or another similar gig, fingers crossed.
