A study presented at the American College of Cardiology’s Annual Scientific Session reveals that young adults prescribed stimulant medications for attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) had a significantly higher likelihood of developing cardiomyopathy (weakened heart muscle) than those who were not given stimulants.
