TikTok Sues the US Government

05/07/2024 CNBC: TikTok has sued the U.S. government saying that the ban that the U.S. government is imposing violates the First Amendment. They also say that invoking national security concerns is not a good enough reason to restrict this free speech for the 170 million Americans they say are on the platform. In this lawsuit, TikTok's underlying argument is that divesting is not really an option and indeed is a U.S. government ban on TikTok.
