Penguin-inspired robot explores sea using AI

Introducing the Quadroin AUV, a revolutionary aquatic robot crafted by German underwater technology firm EvoLogics.

Inspired by the agile swimming of penguins, this autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) takes its cues from the PingGuin, EvoLogics’ experimental predecessor from 2020.

Rooted in Dr. Rudolf Bannasch’s research on Adélie penguins’ movement, the Quadroin marks the culmination of a journey that began with the AquaPenguin in 2009.

The latest iteration, unveiled recently, has captivated the scientific community with its expanded capabilities.

Equipped with advanced features such as side-scan sonar, dual HD cameras, and LED spotlights for illumination in dark waters, the Quadroin is designed for versatile applications.

With four thrusters enabling dives of up to 492 feet and speeds reaching 11.5 mph, it promises both power and agility, Fox News reported.
