Lithuania is prepared to deploy soldiers to Ukraine for a training mission, Prime Minister Ingrida Simonyte has said, while brushing aside a possible Russian response. “If we just thought about the Russian response, then we could not send anything. Every second week you hear that somebody will be nuked," Simonyte told the Financial Times.
Meanwhile, Moscow warned that it would consider any troops France sends to Ukraine as "legitimate targets".
"It is notable that Macron himself explains this rhetoric as a desire to create some kind of strategic uncertainty for Russia. We have to disappoint him. For us, the situation looks more than certain", said Maria Zakharova, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman.
